May - June 2010

Greetings;

I Corinthians 15:58 Therefore my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.

May started off with the Big Western Festival in our hometown that we already reported on in our last newsletter.

Mason, our grandson, has followed tradition, last year at this time he knocked out four of his teeth. The week we were to leave for Santa Maria –Motorcycle Madness when he had a dirt bike accident and got cut up plus broke a bone in his hand. After the trauma of it all we left for Santa Maria with three grandkids, John, Sarah and Mason tired from the prior week. Richard Bigger also joined us in the RV ready for the outreach there. On the way the headlights went out on the RV and since we were traveling at night it was a problem. It was probably a result of the fire we had in August of 2009. Rich bypassed the problem so we could still travel. Then we had a blow out on the trailer somewhere in the night and did not know it until miles down the road when a passer by told us. Before we could pull over to fix it we had another blow out on the same side. We were planning on making it to Santa Maria that night, but had to stay in Paso Robles at a gas station until morning. We could not have stopped at a better place, because a tire shop was right across the street. It was a reminder to me that even in the hard times God is with us. Rely on His strength and He will direct us.

Steve Wenzel met us there at Santa Maria where we ministered together. It was a busy booth with free ice water, balloons, crafts, Bibles etc and on Sunday we had a Worship Service in which we ask fellow Christian Biking Groups to participate. A young man who is a satanist came with his family to our booth and Worship Service, he also came last year. Where the Service was held was in the middle of many the vender booths and right next to the beer garden. They did not plan on hearing that God Loves them, but they heard. The beauty of it all was we were on the Main Stage with the PA and the man that they hired to do the PA for the rally and the bands and for us was a Christian, but we did not know that. At the end of the Service he ask if he could add a few words,  it is kind of scary to just let someone share, but since it was his PA Rich felt it was the right thing to do (I know it was the Holy Spirit speaking to Rich’s heart to let him speak). He had never given his testimony before, but the Holy Spirit was speaking through him and it was an awesome testimony. He was not at ease when he started, but once he got up to his microphone the Holy Spirit moved and all the speaker had to do is just be willing.

Monte Perlin’s Globe O Cross was asked to do a show May 21-23 at the Extreme Motor sports Fair in Costa Mesa, California so we went with our PA and the Ministry booth that was set up right by the Globe.

Monte and his son Sam did an extreme show but the first show on Saturday morning the rear tire blew and the spokes gave way on one of the bikes while they were both riding in the Globe. No one got hurt, but the show was over. It is an older motorcycle and no replacement wheel could be found. Monte was given two BMWs to do his shows prior to this on which he does trick riding, but they were too big to ride in the globe and he had been praying for two bikes to replace the older bikes he had. Rich told him he could lower the BMW and had it ready for the next show. Monte rode it in the globe and loved it. He is going to lower the other one so Sam can ride it. He had the answer to his prayers for two years, but he had to go though adversity before he could receive it. During all the thrilling shows they let the audience know they put their trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and at the Sunday Service Monte and Sam performed in the globe and gave their testimonies.  Jennie and Randy and Rich closed it off with a short message.

Redwood Run: The Assembly of God owns the Richardson Grove Campground where they have camping, cabins, and vendors as well as open hearts to reach the lost for our Lord. It is where we set up and it’s a stop off place for the bikers going to Garberville from the pit were the Redwood Run is held. There are no police allowed in the pit and with the goings on down there I call it Hell’s Pit.

We had a good team working the Ministry booth.  Starting off with our grandson John, he is twelve, does a wonderful job and would like to travel with us all the time. The rest of the team was Eric Towle, Mike and Becky, Richard Bigger and his son Mathew.

E.T. has the Jesus bike and along with our Boss Hoss motorcycles it’s a good bike show that draws a lot of people, which opens the door to share.

In the booth we had children’s crafts, along with free ice water, Bibles, scripture coins and rags, and many different kinds of tracts. Many shower bags with God’s word in them were given out. One even went to vendor whose heart is very hard towards the Lord. We also had a sign that said, “We will Pray for your request” which we did right there. We had many opportunities to share the Love of Jesus. On Sunday we closed the rally with a church service with Eric, Jennie and Randy. Mike shared his testimony how the Lord changed his life, because in the biking world Mike’s name was trigger.  It is not a horse (Roy Roger’s) it was referring to a gun. Only Jesus could change his heart the way he did and what a testimony he now has. Rich closed off the Service on how the Lord can do that when you allow Him to come in to your life. Again the Holy Spirit tied the whole Service together.

This trip had no problems with any motor vehicle and for that we are thankful.

The month is not over and we will be doing local outreach for its remainder as we do all the time when we are home with the Harley groups, other biker groups and outlaws groups.

I Corinthians 15:58 says, “Therefore my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.” That is what is in our heart to do. There are seeds planted for all our Lord and Savior all the time and we will see the harvest when we get to heaven. Until then we will labor for our Lord.

I wanted to cut back but God said no.  Road Shows-Good Vibrations July16-18 Salem, Oregon, with Monte Perlin Globe-O-Cross and pray for the finalizing of a Reality Show with Monte Perlin and what involvement J C and Us Ministries will play in it.

To our Missionary Partners who help keep J C and Us Ministries out there we THANK YOU.

In His Service;

Rich and Jennie Hardesty
